Bridge structures are a favorite element of spectacular, “landmark”-like architecture. Nowadays, more and more bridge structures are being built where the involvement of an architect would be justified. In the case of really good and forward-looking structures, the “design” and the static design appear in a mutually reinforcing way, therefore, within the framework of the subject, we emphasize the role and importance of this. Our aim is to help students to learn the basic concepts of bridge construction, the main types of bridge construction, the criteria of type selection, and to have an insight into the newly applied structural solutions.
