Optimal design of hierarchical structures

In the case of hierarchical structures (e.g. floors with primary and secondary beams) it is worth analysing which distribution of elements can cause an optimal design in certain aspects (e.g. material consumption). Analysing the effect of the change of different parameters (e.g. properties of the applied cross-sections, geometry of the covered room, number of levels of structural hierarchy) can provide results which can be used even in structural design practice.
