Applying Data Envelopment Analysis to constructional problems
There are countless good solutions to every technical problem, and choosing between them is very difficult. Design and constructional tasks are very complex including load-bearing capacity, technological, sustainability, economic issues. While the input parameters vary in their nature, value, and units of measurement, the efficiency variables also range over a wide range. In many cases, describing the relationship between input and output parameters with a function is not possible. In the conceptual design phase, the Data Envelopment Analysis, (DEA) can be effectively applied, with which different versions can be compared. DEA is now widely used (banking sector, healthcare, education, agriculture, energy industry). The aim of this research is to map its applicability in the construction industry.
