Membrane and rope structures

Topic description:

Membrane and rope structures are a special world of architecture: we build structures where the structural elements used strongly determine the formable design. Within the framework of the TDK thesis, the principles and methods of shape determination, the behavior of the materials used or the processes of destruction can be examined.
For the preparation of the thesis, parameter modeling (e.g. (RHINO) or physical modelling and programming tools may be used. Possible topics: Material tests: tensile tests and examination of the material law. Structural systems: the re-threading of the structure. Application of tarpaulins, concrete hand construction.

For whom it is recommended:

Second year and up. Those who are interested in clean power structures are attracted to bold structural solutions.
Programming and/or lab experiments.
